Man Tried to Murder Ex and Her Daughter: Police

A man is charged with trying to murder his ex-girlfriend and her daughter in their Northwest Side home.

Authorities in Chicago have charged a man with stabbing his former girlfriend and her daughter at their home on the city's northwest side. The attack occurred shortly before midnight Saturday in the city's Hermosa neighborhood. The woman and girl were reported in critical condition Sunday night at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Derrick Williams, 47, was charged Sunday with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of home invasion causing injury. He was scheduled to appear in bond court Monday.
