A man repeatedly punched a naked woman in the face, then pushed her out of his car Saturday.
Charges were pending Sunday morning for a man accused of beating up a woman and throwing her from a car Saturday morning before crashing into a van on the South Side.
Officers responded to the 2000 block of West 80th Street shortly after 7:30 a.m. and found a woman lying unresponsive on the ground, police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said.
“The woman was involved in a fight with a man, who was striking her in the face with his fists while pushing her out of the car,” Ursitti said.
The man’s vehicle then crashed into a van at 9622 S. Halsted St. about 7:45 a.m. after a brief police pursuit, police said.
Police said the driver of the fleeing vehicle threw the naked woman out of the car at some point before the crash. The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition, according to police.
The male offender was initially taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park in good condition following the crash, police said.
Charges for the man were pending as of 11 a.m. Sunday, police said.
