Iran Says Obama Is "More Dangerous"

President-elect Barack Obama was mocked by his opponents during the campaign season for his willingness to talk to Iran "without conditions." It turns it this very policy has Iranian military leaders thinking twice about sitting down for a chat.
"People who put on a mask of friendship, but with the objective of betrayal, and who enter from the angle of negotiations without preconditions, are more dangerous," Hossein Taeb, deputy commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, said Wednesday, reported The Washington Times.
"The power holders in the new American government are trying to regain their lost influence with a tactical change in their foreign diplomacy. They are shifting from a hard conflict to a soft attack," Taeb said.
Improved relations may yet stand as the greatest threat to the Shiite Muslim clerics that rule the nation since the overthrow of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in 1979. Since then the ruling government has used the "Great Satan" -- their pet name for America -- as a rallying point for their people.
