Gunman Robs South Loop Bank During Rush Hour

This man robbed a Chase Bank on Wabash on Friday, March 13, 2009.

An armed robber hit the Chase Bank at 850 South Wabash during rush hour Friday, and he remains at large.

The FBI is searching for the man, who threatened employees with a handgun and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The thief is suspected in at least five other armed robberies of area banks, dating to Dec. 5, 2008.  He was described as a black man, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, between 30 and 35 years old, according to an FBI release.

Anyone who recognizes the man in the photos or has any information about the robberies should contact the FBI or local police.
