A nanny tells police she saw a white cargo van speeding away after someone tossed a baby seat into the van of octuplet mother Nadya Suleman (pictured).

A baby seat was tossed through a rear window of octuplet mother Nadya Suleman's van, which was parked in the driveway of her La Habra, Calif. home, according to police.

A nanny inside the home at 2051 Madonna Lane heard a loud boom about 3 a.m., looked out the window and spotted a white cargo van speeding toward Palm Street, said La Habra police Lt. Fred Wiste. She did not see the driver or anyone getting into the van, and she did not go outside to investigate or call police, Wiste said.

At about 6:30 a.m., when the morning nannies reported for work, they saw that a baby's car seat, which had been left on the porch, had been thrown at the rear of Suleman's gray 2005 Toyota Sienna, Wiste said. A rear window was shattered, the wiper was broken and there was "a little body damage" to the rear door, he said.

The baby seat was lodged in the frame of the broken window.

Police took a vandalism report will forward it to detectives for investigation, Wiste said. But solving the case will likely depend on whether there were any witnesses, the lieutenant said.

Police spokeswoman Cindy Knapp said a man took "No Trespassing" signs from the property last week, but he eventually replaced them.

On March 13, toilet paper was strewn across the front lawn, she said.

Suleman has been a media sensation since she was identified as the mother of the octuplets, who were born Jan. 26 at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center.
