Missing Teen Found Safe in Chicago Hotel

Girl found with 27-year-old man

A suburban teen missing since Wednesday has been found safe.

Detectives found Schaumburg High School junior Raquel "Rachel" Bonilla at a hotel in the 7700 block of South Cicero Avenue in Chicago. Police say the 16-year-old was with a 27-year-old Chicago man. The two were taken to police headquarters for questioning.

Investigators found a notebook in the girl's school locker stating that she was planning to leave home on her own initiative.

Bonilla's mother last heard from her daughter via text at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday saying she was staying after school to make up some quizzes she missed when she was out with the stomach flu, but became worried when she still hadn't arrived home later that night.

Volunteers distributed fliers with Bonilla's photo on them to the public on Friday and Saturday and a Facebook page was set up to help locate the teen.
