Bail Denied for Boyfriend of Missing Calumet City Woman

The boyfriend of a missing Calumet City woman, Gena Chiodo, was denied bail Sunday afternoon, a day after he was arrested and charged with her murder.

On Saturday Police charged Donal E. Clark with first degree murder and concealment of a homicide, but they have not found her body yet, officials said during a press conference.

The search for her body continued this morning.  Her family www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/Police-Search-Missing-Calumet-City-Woman-174957181.htmlsays they doubt they'll find her alive.

"At this point we just want to find her body," said Michelle Mack, a friend of Chiodo. When asked if she expected to find Chiodo alive, Mack replied, "We don't."

Chiodo, a hair stylist at a salon in Munster, Ind., has been missing for over a week.  She was last seen a week ago at her house in the 1300 block of Price. Police said her vehicle and house keys were found at the home.

On Friday, Gilmore announced police were "moving towards a criminal investigation" using dogs and a helicopter to aid them with the search.

Friends said they thought it was strange to see Chiodo's car and her boyfriend's car in the driveway for several days.

Mack said she was there when Chiodo's boyfriend went willingly with police to provide information.

"They took him out of here Wednesday," said Mack. "He was hiding in there peeking out the window."
