Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard's new restaurant will be called Drunken Goat, but don't expect any real live drunken goats (let alone real live goats?) on the premises.

Time Out Chicago and Metromix talked with last season's Top Chef winner (and Chicago's hometown hero) Stephanie Izard about her plans to open Drunken Goat, her new restaurant venture planned for 2009 with partners Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm of Boka Restaurant Group (Boka, Landmark, Perennial), a partnership first revealed by 312 Dining Diva.

The two web sites share details about the new restaurant (such as, why the unusual name?), and Metromix reveals some of Izard's thoughts on the current Top Chef season.

If you haven't checked it out, Metromix has an extensive Top Chef Guide complete with what past contestants are doing now, a weekly blog about the show  and an interview with Radhika Desai, this year's Chicago contestant and chef of Wicker Park's Between Boutique.

The Bravo TV site  features a blog by Izard, as well as some others from judges Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons and others.

Desai also has her own blog on her personal web site where she talks about being the judge's favorite this past episode, something that was cut from the show's final take.  Bummer – would've been great to see our hometown girl get some props.  Maybe next week.

  • AlaBi Monday, Dec 1 at 1:21 PM FLAG COMMENT Amazing how Ms. Lobdell managed to write a few paragraphs and still say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING RELEVANT to the Drunken Goat restaurant. Its amazing to me how well she digresses!! WOW! Next time talk about what the title of the story implies - instead of wasting my time. THANKS EMILY FOR A TOTALLY USELESS ARTICLE.
