TSA workers are complaining of rashes, lightheadedness and swollen eyes and faces.

If that TSA worker rifling through your vacation souvenirs looks cranky, be patient. It could be his uniform.

A number of Transportation Security Administration workers have complained recently that they are breaking out in rashes, are lightheaded, have red and swollen eyes and lips and are, generally, miserable from skin maladies.

Some employees who have consulted with doctors say that the problems stem from their new uniforms and a chemical that's used to keep them looking new.

Workers have noticed that uniforms imported from Mexico do not seem to cause rashes, as opposed to uniforms from Honduras.

TSA changed uniforms last summer in an effort to make employees look more professional. The rash and scratching, however, doesn't do much for their credibility.

  • Terradea Tuesday, Jan 6 at 2:35 PM FLAG COMMENT I say put even more hazardous substances into the uniforms of the TSA agents. That way, they'll be just as miserable as they make us. Worthless losers, all of them. On the other hand, they do as as valuable a job as the rest of the Bush administration. And they are all just as qualified.
  • Paul Huebl Monday, Jan 5 at 6:13 PM FLAG COMMENT The TSA should not even exist. That worthless outfit is nothing more than a jobs program or hard corps unenployed. Giving these poorly traine people psudo cop uniorms was an insult to working cops everywhere. We need armed and trained cops on planes. That unconstitutional warrantless privacy invasion is also un-American. I'd take my chances with terrorists anyday. They will always outsmart TSA clowns anyway. Why ... MORE >
  • Anonymous Monday, Jan 5 at 6:13 PM FLAG COMMENT They are probably using genetically modified cotton in Honduras, like they are doing in India. Google bt cotton, rash and Monsanto. If you ever seen the movie Michael Clayton, it is based loosely on Monsanto. Obama appointed former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack who's a big supporter of genetically engineered crops. Not the change we were looking for.
  • LISA Monday, Jan 5 at 4:14 PM FLAG COMMENT AS ALWAYS THE PEOPLE WHO DO THE JOBS RIGHT GET PUSHED TO THE SIDE!!
  • Christine Monday, Jan 5 at 3:53 PM FLAG COMMENT The bidding process always is won by the LOWEST bidder. If you have never had the pleasure of bidding for a government or state contract; you would not know. FYI....That bidding process is NOT A BUSH POLICY.
