Parknav Releases App to Relieve Parking Stress

Parknav demonstrated the parking app during the Connected World Conference 2014

Parking in the city just got easier.

Parknav presented an easy to use and free app during the Connected World Conference at the Chicago Auto Show.

The Parknav App collects and analyzes public, partner and proprietary data resources to give a driver the best parking area types including free parking, pay metered spots, zoned spots and information regarding parking garages near a desired location.

The map provides turn-by-turn directions, and a three-color system of green, orange and red higlights spots within an area on the map showing the estimated percentage for getting a spot.

The app is also updated in real time so a user can monitor their chances with more accuracy. A driver is given 10 free usages per month with various pay per-month plans available for additional uses.

The company is now looking at expanding within the U.S., and hopes to eventually go international.

A completely new design for the app will be released in early spring.

The app is fully functioning in Chicago, which is its home base, and Munich, Germany, where they partnered with BMW to test the system there.

Originally the app was called FasPark when it was launched in Nov. 2011, but the application recently underwent a strategic name change when the program evolved to include a navigation feature.
