Lights Festival Takes Over Mag Mile Saturday

Parade will feature marching bands, dancers, vocal performances and elaborate floats.

The holiday spirit takes over Chicago's Magnificent Mile on Saturday.

Thousands are expected to converge on North Michigan Avenue for the BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival.

The day will kick off with live performances at Pioneer Court beginning at 11 a.m. The annual parade begins six hours later, followed by a fireworks show above the Chicago River.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse will again act as the masters of ceremonies on the head float. They'll be joined by other beloved Disney characters.

Public transportation is encourage for the popular event. The closest Chicago Transit Authority "L" stop is at Chicago and Grand avenues. Bus routes 3, 145, 146, 147, 151 and 157 also serve the route. Those taking Metra will find extra service on the BNSF, Union Pacific Northwest, Union Pacific West, Milwaukee North, Milwaukee West and Rock Island lines.
