Things To Do In Chicago: Aug. 15-18

The show can be viewed along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street, with North Avenue Beach as the focal point. See the Modern Wing in a new light Friday at the After Dark party, one of the most diverse events in the city for young professionals. Special tours will be available of the Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity exhibit, rock out to DJs and live music and theatrical ensemble Collaboraction will be on hand to keep things sufficiently weird. Bet on the ponies at the annual Arlington Million Saturday. Arlington Park's signature stakes race is preceded by a full day of racing in a festive atmosphere, including a Beer Garden and a BBQ menu. 11:15 am-6 pm, $70

The theme for this weekend is punk and '80s music, along with the usual assortment of vintage home furnishings, clothing, jewelry, household items, electronics and more. The 16th annual Lincolnshire Art Festival offers live music, food, kid-friendly activities and art from more than 100 artists in a variety of mediums and price points. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., FREE

Mmmmm, beer. Hit the North Shore for the Highwood Craft Beer Fest on Saturday to sample more than 50 types of suds from breweries ranging from Goose Island to Metropolitan, live music and food. Noon-4 p.m., $35-$50, Everts Park (130 Highwood Ave.)

Hit River North for the 5th annual Clark After Dark Summer Block Party. The USO of Illinois hosts this annual event as a way to support the troops. Hoo-ah! Enjoy military-themed games, vehicle displays, food and drink specials and a raffle. 4-10 p.m., Hubbard between Clark and LaSalle
