Did you know that looking at beautiful art can actually make you happier? According to a study conducted by University College London, human beings were found to experience as much as 10 percent more blood flow in their brains — the emotional equivalent of looking at their beloved — when staring at paintings by masters like Monet and Rembrandt.

Which is why the St. Charles Fine Art Show — taking place from May 27-28 — is an event you don’t want to miss. Sure, they might not have any Monets for sale, but you’ll experience plenty of spirit-lifting art in a gorgeous setting that includes free admission and free parking.

Located less than one hour from downtown Chicago on the picturesque streets of St. Charles, the award-winning, highly regarded show attracts over 100 juried artists from around the country. Peruse work in an array of mediums, including watercolor, oil, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics, fiber, wood, mixed media and glass. And don’t forget to speak with the artists, who will happily walk you through their work. All art exhibited is available for sale during the 19th anniversary of this outdoor event.

Want to get even more involved? You can also join the hundreds of art lovers who've supported the show and its artists by participating in the Patron Program. This program helps attract quality artists and provides Patrons with wonderful art for their homes and businesses. In fact, those who participate in the Patron Program by spending $250 or more at the St. Charles Fine Art Show will receive two complimentary Arcada Theatre tickets to a show of their choosing.

Boasting outstanding architecture and historic significance, St. Charles has long been a destination for the arts, dining, entertainment, outdoor and water recreation, shopping and festivals. The St. Charles Fine Art Show has built a reputation of being a diverse group of high-quality art, and it attracts an audience of art lovers and buyers who come from the entire Chicago-land area and beyond.
