‘Desperate Housewives' Star Brenda Strong Talks Nicollette Sheridan's Suit & Mary Alice's Return

"Desperate Housewives'" Brenda Strong, who stars as the show's narrator, Mary Alice Young, is returning to the ABC series and appearing on screen in the April 25 episode. When Access Hollywood.com caught up with the actress on Monday, she dished on the latest scandal to rock Wisteria Lane.

"I haven't spoken to Nicolette. Because of the nature of my role, I'm very removed for the most part of what goes on," she told Access, when asked about Nicollette Sheridan's $20 million lawsuit, which the blonde actress filed against "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry for allegedly striking her and then firing her from the show.

"I've never witnessed any interaction between the two of them that would even illuminate that this would be a possibility. It's kind of out of nowhere," she continued. "The plausibility is kind of strange, but I personally would like to say I love working with Marc. I've never had an issue with him so this doesn't seem like it fits to me."

Brenda acknowledged that she also has warm feelings for Nicolette too.

"She's always been extremely supportive of me and my family, but this is kind of out of nowhere for me," Brenda said of her former co-star. "On a personal level, I love Nicolette. She's been very gracious to both my son and my husband, but it does seem like out of nowhere."

In other "Housewives" news, Brenda said getting in front of the camera for her upcoming appearance was a joy.

"It's so much fun. I love our crew… It's a very close-knit family and we care deeply about each other. We're really good at what we do and it's so nice to be seen and not just heard," she explained. "I have a very unique role that I play on the show and I am extremely grateful for the overview that I get to have and at the same time it's nice to get my hands dirty and get in there and shoot an episode."

Brenda is also very excited about the possibility of her role showing up on Wisteria Lane more often.

"Mary Alice is part of the fabric of Wisteria Lane in such a deep way and whenever her presence can help to create more of a container for the past and bring the past forward, I think there is a lot of opportunity, particularly as… we get closer to whenever we're done with the show," she continued. "Who knows when that's going to be, but Mary Alice will be a bookend of some sort. Since she was so powerful in the first season, I'm sure whenever the last season is, she'll be powerful again in that regard."
