Young star AnnaSophia Robb will be taking over Sarah Jessica Parker's iconic role in the CW's planned "Sex and the City" prequel series.

The planned "Sex and the City" prequel series "The Carrie Diaries" has found its brand new Carrie Bradshaw.

Actress AnnaSophia Robb, who starred as Violet Beauregarde in Tim Burton's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" as well as "Soul Sufer" and "Bridge to Terabithia," will be taking the Carrie mantle from Sarah Jessica Parker in the new series set during the neurotic New Yorker's high school years.

No word yet on who will be playing Carrie's three best friends Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda (played by Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon in the original HBO series), but 14-year-old former "Running Wilde" star Stefania Owen has been cast as Carrie's younger sister, named Dorrit.

The pilot is currently in production, with no air date information available.
