Same-Sex Victory, or Close to It

Leno thinks Santorum might be a little comfortable with how close his finish was to Romney's

Late night comics still can't get over the tiny margin by which Mitt Romney apparently won the Iowa caucuses.

They also can't stop making jokes at the demographic make-up of the GOP field, especially now that one of its frontrunners is an outspoken opponent of gay rights.

Rick Santorum was perhaps best known for his steadfast opposition to abortion rights and same-sex marriage — until his virtue tie for first in Iowa, where Romney apparently won by just eight votes.

"Eight votes!" Jay Leno marveled on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday.

"At one point, Santorum almost withdrew from the race, because he didn't want to finish that close to another man," Leno joked.
