The Air Force captain gets a car.

NBC's Jay Leno blazed Oprah’s trail for his Thanksgiving broadcast, giving away a new Ford Fusion Hybrid to a lucky member of his all-military studio audience, The Associated Press reported.

Air Force Capt. Tung Ngo told Leno he was grateful for the chance to trade in his 12-year-old clunker for the 2010 hybrid after his name was picked from a bowl with the names of other service members.

Ngo, who is originally from Nebraska, will head to Cape Canaveral, Fla. this week for a new assignment, according to the AP.

Leno’s not the first talk show host to gift a set of shiny new wheels to members of his audience. Daytime TV hosts Ellen Degeneres and Oprah Winfrey have also done car giveaways.
