Charlie, if you want to get back to "winning," start with a big apology to your old bosses. And take a shower.

That's Alec Baldwin's advice to Charlie Sheen in a Huffington Post column the "30 Rock" star wrote explaining how the "Two and a Half Men" star can save his career. Baldwin says he knows from experience that TV stars can't survive a clash with TV suits, like "Men" boss Chuck Lorre.

“Take a nap. Get a shower. Call Chuck. Go on Letterman and make an apology…and then beg for your job back,” Baldwin writes.

Sheen has waged a vitriolic war on his once and possibly future employers, calling Lorre a "worm" and worse. And even if he was television's highest-paid star on its highest-rated show, Sheen should know he is not expendable, said Baldwin.

"[Execs believe] no actor is greater than the show itself when the show is a hit," Baldwin wrote. "And, in that regard, they are often right. Add to that the fact that the actor who is torturing their diseased egos is a drug-addled, porn star-squiring, near-Joycean Internet ranter, and they really want you to go."

Sheen's best hope is that the viewing public is a lot nicer than the studio bosses, Baldwin adds.

“You want to really p--- off Chuck and Warner Brothers and CBS? Beg for America's forgiveness. They will give it to you. And then go back. You are a great television star. And you've got the gig.”
