Mother Of “Real Housewives” Star Danielle Staub Dies, Claims Co-Stars Offered No Support

Danielle Staub, a star of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," is currently mourning the death of her mother, Ruth Merrill, without the support of her Bravo co-stars.

"We know how they feel about me," Danielle told People of the lack of condolences from her fellow "Housewives." "They weren't my friends before the show, they weren't friends with me on the show, and they won't be friends with me when the show has come and gone. I don't expect them to reach out to me. I would actually be shocked. I would prefer not to have people be fake around me."

Danielle said her late mother is featured in the upcoming season of the hit Bravo series that begins on May 3.

"She's on the show a little bit, she's definitely a voice of reason with me," she explained. "She was a sweet woman, she adopted me, I was her miracle. She was one of the most energetic women. She was a very religious woman, a God-fearing woman."

Ruth passed away on March 21 following a stroke in Athens, Penn. A funeral was held on Thursday.

She was 75.
