Thief Steals $200K Worth of Jewelry from Axl Rose

Model arrested after stealing nearly $200,000 worth of jewelry from Guns N' Roses lead singer Axl Rose

French police arrested a woman on Wednesday in connection with the theft of nearly $200,000 worth of jewelry from Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose after a concert in Paris, according to reports.

A police source told the U.K. Daily Mirror that the Paradise City singer was “fuming” after he learned the thief stole three gold and diamond necklaces from an after party Tuesday night, following the group’s show at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy. Rose was not wearing the jewelry at the time it was taken.

The woman, a model, had returned the necklaces to police and was subsequently arrested, authorities said. She told police she did not know how she ended up leaving with the jewelry, AFP reported.

Rose, 50, is the only original Guns N' Roses member touring with the band. Guns N' Roses is in the middle of a European tour that has been fraught with controversy. At a recent gig in London, the band threatened to walk off stage if fans continued to throw money and plastic cups at them after they arrived 50 minutes late. GNR also banned fans from entering venues wearing T-shirts of ex-guitarist Slash, with security guards denying them entry.

The tour continues in Germany on Friday before returning to France for six additional dates.
