Six years ago, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne were listed as one of the UK's richest couples. Unfortunately, their financial situation across the pond isn't quite so sunny these days.

MSNBC reports that the rock and roll family owes $1.7 million in back taxes, and that the government has put a lien on their Hidden Hills mansion in Los Angeles.

The unpaid taxes date back to 2008 - The Osbournes failed to pay over $700,000 that year and an additional million dollars in 2009.

An angry Sharon vented through her Twitter account, claiming: "You can't rely on anyone but yourself. But you have to be on top of your own business affairs. My fault...lesson learned."

During the height of their reality show fame, the family was believed to be worth in the ballpark of $135 million - but that was in 2003.
