Enrique Iglesias Says Pitbull “Deserves All the Awards This Year” at Latin Billboards

Iglesias was practically reared in Miami, moving here at age 8

Enrique Iglesias has six Latin Billboards nominations this year, including for best male artist – where he is up against his buddy Pitbull.

"I think Pitbull deserves all the awards this year," Iglesias said in an interview Wednesday night with NBC 6, as artists are in town counting down to Thursday’s Billboard Latin Music Awards in Coral Gables.

It has been a pivotal year for Pitbull, who has collaborated with the top Latin American artists in the world like Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Iglesias himself.

Like Pitbull, Iglesias was practically reared in Miami, as he moved here from Spain when he was eight. He said that Miami and its Caribbean influence, especially from Cuba, has heavily influenced and shaped his music career.

He has blown up with his album “Euphoria” and toured the country – and he and Lopez recently announced a world tour together.

"Both of us spoke about it and we thought, great idea," Iglesias said. They'll hit the road this summer.
