Miley Cyrus and Sheryl Crow perform onstage during 2009 VH1 Divas at Brooklyn Academy of Music on September 17, 2009 in New York City.
The rock-country ballad tells the story of a strained romance, complete with lines about wearing your heart on your sleeve and tussling in the dark. Michaels, 46, sings to 17-year-old Cyrus, “Yeah we both know better than this, still we can’t resist slowly get undressed.”
The chorus of the tune is "Won't you fall down on me/So close I can feel you breathe/Tonight in the darkness with nothing to lose/If the truth is all we can see/If I fall for you, could you fall for me?"
Cyrus may not seem like an 1980s metal fan, but reportedly her first concert was a Poison show in Nashville and last year she recorded a cover of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," which her mother Tish said is one of her favorite songs. The cover has not yet been released, but it has been rumored that Michaels contributed to the track.
