He may be nuts, he may jump on Oraph’s couch, but he is still A-list in Hollywood. Tom Cruise has a global box office of over $6 billion and that’s why he appears annually on lists like this. His name has appeared on the Top 10 Poll of Money-Making Stars 18 times, as ranked by Quigley Publications' annual poll of movie exhibitors. “Mission Impossible” and its sequel have been huge hits for Cruise, but his highest grossing film has been “War of the Worlds.”

Tom Cruise has a holiday "Mission" on the way.

"Mission: Impossible 4" will arrive in theaters on December 16, 2011, Paramount confirmed to Access Hollywood on Thursday.

According to Variety, Pixar helmer Brad Bird is "circling" the director's chair.

The film will arrive on the same date as another anticipated sequel, the third installment of "Alvin and the Chipmunks 3-D."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Tom will also co-produce the film alongside J.J. Abrams, who directed "Mission: Impossible 3."

Cruise recently wrapped production on the spy thriller "Knight and Day," opposite Cameron Diaz, slated for release in July 2010.
