Megan Fox: My Decision to Quit “Transformers 3”

Screen star tackles decepticon reports that say she was ousted

Megan Fox has hit back at reports claiming “Transformers” director Michael Bay axed her from the blockbuster's third installment, asserting that it was she who called it quits.

“It was her decision not to return,” reps for the 24-year-old brunette stunner told People. “She wishes the franchise the best.”

The statement from Fox’s camp followed Internet reports Wednesday claiming Bay had asked her to leave so he could transform the direction of the franchise.

Access Hollywood, citing an anonymous source, reported Bay wanted to free the film’s star, Shia LaBeouf, from his romantic ties to Fox’s character to make room for a new love interest.

Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood first broke news of Fox’s exit, which comes months after the notoriously loose-lipped star criticized her director in the press.

After Fox referred to Bay as “nightmare" director, comparing him to “Hitler” and “Napoleon” in a September interview with Britain’s Wonderland Magazine, unnamed “Transformers” crewmembers returned insults in a letter posted on Bay's website.

The letter, which was later taken down, criticized Fox’s acting abilities and called her “thankless, classless, graceless,” among other slights.

Eventually, Bay and Fox publicly reconciled with the director saying he expected his leading lady to continue working on “Transformers 3” despite her propensity for making "crazy quips."

"I don't condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don't condone Megan's outlandish quotes," Bay wrote on his site. "But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm. The fact of the matter I still love working with her, and I know we still get along."

Shooting for “Transformers 3” is expected to begin later this summer, People reported. Fox’s next film, the action flick “Jonah Hex,” premieres June 18.
