Seth Meyers Parodies ‘Mad Max: Fury Road' With ‘Reasonable Max,' Promotes Eco-Friendly Wind Gliders

Who needs a War Rig when you can handle a wind glider?

"Mad Max: Fury Road" might have swept at the 2016 Oscars Sunday night, but Seth Meyers is here to remind you that some award-winning movies can be relatively silly when you think about them at their core.

The "Late Night With Seth Meyers" host created a segment called "Reasonable Max" Monday night, in which he parodied the Charlize Theron-starring film. When Max's friends decided to take a trip to Gas Town, Meyers' character stepped in to really weigh the pros and cons of making such a journey.

"It feels a little silly," he said, "and if I'm being honest, very irresponsible that whenever we go to get gasoline we drive a fleet of muscle cars that literally shoot out fire."

But Immortan Joe's followers insisted Reasonable Max was just being a bit of a fun sponge instead of practical. Insisting that their War Rig is beyond awesome, the followers booed Reasonable Max and he deferred to them, saying, "The cars look cool."

When one guy decided to celebrate Reasonable Max's admission by busting out a guitar, it got a little out of control.

"Does the guitar have to shoot fire, too?" asked Max.

Finally leader Immortan Joe arrived and pretended to listen to what Reasonable Max had to say, which includes trading the War Rig in for a more eco-friendly wind glider. "Guys, why can't we give it a shot?" Max asked. "We would save thousands of gallons of gasoline."

Max even pitched the idea of a recycling plan, which Immortan Joe and his cronies joked about taking seriously. Ultimately Max's feelings were hurt after talking about the dangers of climate change, only to be shot down.

"Last year you were calling it 'global warming,'" another responded.

Watch the clip to see whether Seth's "Max" finally convinces them to switch to wind power.
