Reston (Temporarily) Changes Name to Hill Valley to Celebrate ‘Back to the Future' Day

Great Scott! Marty McFly arrived (will arrive?) in "the future" at 4:29 p.m. Oct 21, 2015.

Reston, Virginia, is celebrating the future imagined in 1989's "Back to the Future Part II" by ceremoniously changing the town's name to Hill Valley, Marty's fictional hometown, RestonNow.com reported.

The name will be in effect from Wednesday through the end of Reston's Washington West International Film Festival, according to RestonNow.

On Sunday, you can catch a red-carpet screening of "Back to the Future." Christopher Lloyd ("Doc" Emmett L. Brown), Claudia Wells (Jennifer in the first "BTTF"), co-writer/co-producer Bob Gale, and others will appear at the screening -- although we hate to break it to you that it's already sold out.

All proceeds from the festival will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, a nonprofit organization that funds research for a cure for Parkinson's Disease, RestonNow reported.
