Queen Blasts Trump's Use of ‘We Are the Champions'

Trump made a dramatic entrance to "We Are the Champions" at the RNC on Monday

Queen has no time for Donald Trump.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee made a dramatic entrance in silhouette Monday at the Republican National Convention before emerging to introduce his wife -- with the rock band Queen's anthem "We Are the Champions" blasting as his soundtrack through Quicken Loans Arena.

The band took notice Tuesday morning, writing on Twitter, "An unauthorised use at the Republican Convention against our wishes - Queen."

It wasn't the first time the Trump campaign has rocked the song, which among its memorable lines includes the lyric "no time for losers."

Queen guitarist Brian May wrote on his website back in June after noticing it being used as a "theme song" that "permission to use the track was neither sought nor given."

"We are taking advice on what steps we can take to ensure this use does not continue," he wrote at the time. "Regardless of our views on Mr Trump’s platform, it has always been against our policy to allow Queen music to be used as a political campaigning tool. Our music embodies our own dreams and beliefs, but it is for all who care to listen and enjoy."

The Rolling Stones, Adele and Neil Young have also asked the Trump campaign to not feature their music, The Associated Press reported.

The Trump campaign has not yet responded to a request for comment.
