Jay-Z to Release New Album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” July 7

One million Samsung Galaxy users will be able to get "Magna Carta Holy Grail" three days before it's officially released.

Talk about short notice. Jay-Z has a new album coming out in just three weeks, and it's called "Magna Carta Holy Grail."

Hov announced the new album, set for a July 7 release, Sunday night in a three-minute Samsung ad that aired during the NBA finals game between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.

That was because a deal Jay struck with Samsung means one million Galaxy users who download a customized app will get to download the new record for free July 4, a full three days before it's released.

"The album is about this duality," Jay-Z said in the ad, "of how do you navigate your way through this whole thing, through success and through failures, and remain yourself?"

"Magna Carta" will be his first new solo studio album in four years — the long-awaited follow-up to 2009's "The Blueprint 3."

During those four years in between albums, Hov collaborated with Kanye West on "Watch the Throne," and he and wife Beyonce daughter had their daughter Blue Ivy.

This isn't the first time Jay has teamed with a cell phone company to prerelease his music. In 2003, he teamed with Nokia to release "The Black Album" on special edition phones, The New York Times noted.
