‘Mr. Robot' Finale Postponed After Virginia Shooting Due to Similar Graphic Scene

Fans of "Mr. Robot" will have to wait another week to find out what happens in the big finale. USA Network has postponed the season one finale, pushing it from Wednesday, Aug. 26 to Wednesday, Sept. 2 after the tragic shooting death of reporter Alison Parker and her cameraman Adam Ward in Virginia.

"The previously filmed season finale of 'Mr. Robot' contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today's tragic events in Virginia," USA Network said in a statement. "Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight's episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time."

Parker and Ward were were killed Wednesday during a live interview segment on WDBJ-TV's "Mornin'" show. According to police, the suspect in the case, Vester Lee Flanagan II, who also went by Bryce Williams, was previously employed by the Virginia TV station at which Ward and Parker worked. Flanagan died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound while police pursued him. Vicki Gardner, the sole survivor of the shooting, is out of surgery and stable.

In the finale's place was an encore of the penultimate episode of "Mr. Robot."

The hit USA series stars Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson, a hacker who joins fsociety, an Anonymous-like hacker group. Their goal? To take down a huge corporation, E Corp. (Evil Corp. to Elliot) and eliminate all debts. The show also stars Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, Martin Wallström and Christian Slater.

Spoiler alert if you aren't caught up: Catch up. It's a good show. USA has already ordered a second season.

"Mr. Robot's" season finale will air Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 10 p.m. on USA.
