Mike Epps Sorry for Dancing With Kangaroo on Detroit Stage

Actor and comedian Mike Epps is apologizing for dancing on stage with a kangaroo Friday in front of a screaming crowd at a Detroit comedy show.

During a video of the event, Epps can be seen holding the animal's harness. A man is seen on the video picking the animal up and carrying it around the stage.

After the incident went viral on social media over the weekend, some accused Epps of animal cruelty.

The actor initially defended the stunt, posting a video of him feeding the kangaroo backstage, explaining in the caption, "Look how nice I am 2 him" before deleting it.

Late Sunday, Epps posted an apology on Instagram, saying that things got out of hand but he didn't mean any harm. He says that he doesn't own the kangaroo and plans to donate money to a foundation to help the animals.

"Sorry if I offended anybody I love animals sense [sic] I was a kid I had dogs my whole life !!#imadeabadmistake I keep taking down my post because of the back lash Iam getting!! thank you for forgiveness !!" he added.
