Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have let it be known that they don't want baby gifts — which is good news for a Chicago children's hospital.

The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is receiving the kind of attention Tuesday it's not likely used to getting.

Pregnant celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have directed their friends, family and fans to donate to the Chicago hospital instead of giving baby gifts.

The hospital released a statement Tuesday extending "its sincerest gratitude to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West for their thoughtfulness and support of the hospital."

Funds donated will be directed to the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Fund, which cares for the most critically-ill babies and their families.

So why did the couple decide to single out Lurie? West is from Chicago, so that may have been a connection, but perhaps a little girl talk may have spurred things along.

According to Kardashian's blog, she recently had lunch with her good friend, Larsa Pippen — who happens to be a supporter of the hospital, as evidenced by photos from the hospital's gala benefit last year.

It's not known whether the hospital has already started receiving donations.

Kardashian is due to give birth this summer.
