‘Hamilton' Cast Honors Prince With Wildly Fun ‘Let's Go Crazy' Performance

Lin-Manuel Miranda held a dance party onstage

The world lost a musical legend Thursday, but instead of mourning Prince's death, the cast of "Hamilton" celebrated his life.

Lin-Manuel Miranda and the rest of the cast performed Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" at the end of the show Thursday night, and it genuinely looked like they were having a blast. The entire cast sang, danced and jumped around the stage.

The audience joined in on the fun and remained standing throughout the encore. Dancing and clapping in their seats, the audience appeared to have enjoyed the experience as much as the stars of the blockbuster Broadway show.

Prince was found dead at his home, Paisley Park, in Minnesota Thursday. He was 57 years old. Fans and celebrities immediately poured their hearts out in statements and social media posts, showing how truly beloved the "When Doves Cry" singer was. Fans also left flowers and purple commemoratives outside of his home.

Broadway was full of Prince tributes Thursday evening, as Jennifer Hudson, Cynthia Erivo and the rest of the cast of "The Color Purple" rocked a chilling rendition of the legendary crooner's "Purple Rain." Before launching into the emotional tribute, Hudson thanked the audience for attending and talked about Prince. "I'm not a speaker by any means. I did not expect to have to speak on tonight, but God has his way," Hudson said. "As we all know, today we lost a legend. Ooh, Jesus, we lost a legend who was a good friend of mine: Prince, who was dear to all of us. Every single one of us."

Hudson, Erivo and everyone launched their powerhouse performance, but before it ended the "Dreamgirls" star requested everyone go a cappella. "Can we just stop the music and we all sing it together one more time?" she asked, telling fans, "I want to hear you!"

Prince fans across the country also honored the late star with dance and block parties.
