Gwyneth Paltrow: My Low-Carb Family Diet Leaves Us With Hunger Pangs

The actress is set to release her laterst culinary tome, "It's All Good"

Gwyneth Paltrow's new cookbook is giving folks lotsa choice intel to chew on.

The actress turned Goop goddess is set to release her latest culinary tome, It's All Good, on April 2, in which she offers a slew of healthy recipes inspired by her own recent switch to a healthier diet and lifestyle.

But in the book, the 40-year-old star admits that her family's strict diet--which includes dishes that are both gluten-free and low-carb--often leaves her hubby, Chris Martin, and their two children, 8-year-old Apple and 6-year-old Moses, with hunger pangs when the meal is over.

"Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across...seems to concur that [gluten] is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it," she writes in a cookbook section devoted to grains, per an excerpt in the Daily Mail.

"Sometimes when my family is not eating pasta, bread or processed grains like white rice, we're left with that specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs," she adds.

The avowed foodie--whose first cookbook, My Father's Daughter, was a huge best seller when it was released in 2011--reportedly decided to write It's All Good after learning last spring that she was both anemic and had a vitamin D deficiency.

The book's 185 recipes provide a flavorful spin on dishes borne out of her new doctor-prescribed diet, which included cutting out dairy, eggs, soy, sugar, coffee, alcohol, shellfish, wheat, meat and processed food, among other ingredients.

Her toothsome solution includes dishes like huevos rancheros, hummus tartine with scallion-mint pesto, and salmon burgers with pickled ginger--recipes of which are included in the book.
