Jimmy Fallon: We Had Baby Via Surrogate

Late-Night TV host said he and wife tried “a bunch of things” before considering a surrogate

Jimmy Fallon and wife Nancy Juvonen had their first baby, Winnie Rose, via a surrogate, the late-night TV host revealed on NBC's Today show Friday.

"My wife and I had been trying for a while to have a baby, Fallon, 38, who married Juvonen, 46, in 2007, told Savannah Guthrie. "We tried a bunch of things. So we had a surrogate."

Winnie Rose was born on July 23, just a day after the birth of the royal baby, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.

The announcement of the birth came as a surprise to many, including Fallon's coworkers, as the couple kept the surrogate's pregnancy private.

“We said, ‘We’re not going to tell anybody,’” Fallon said. “It’d be just more fun if it’s just private between me and my wife. And then we get to introduce her to everybody."

Everybody indeed. Fallon originally announced the birth and the baby's name during the opening monolgue for his show on July 24.

"I'm your host, Dada," Fallon said as he made the announcement. "I'm a father of a beautiful baby girl. She's so cute."
