‘Bringing People Together': Trump Touts His Strengths on ‘Tonight Show'

Donald Trump repeatedly affirmed his belief that he’s good for America in a Monday night appearance on "The Tonight Show” where he also sat for a mock job interview.

Speaking to host Jimmy Fallon, Trump emphasized what he saw as his ability to bring people together, strengthen the country and get people to vote.

“They actually said if I win – a poll came out – if I win and [Hillary Clinton] wins, it’s going to be the largest voter turnout in the history of the country,” Trump said. “And that’s a good thing, because people don’t vote that much in this country,” Trump said. “So that would be an amazing thing if that happened.”

Trump maintained his optimistic tone even when Fallon asked him about his more controversial statements like banning all Muslims from entering America.

After noting that the crowd did not cheer their approval for this stance, Trump emphasized national security and mentioned the Paris attacks and 9/11.

“We’ve got to figure out what’s going on,” he said. “I just want to see something different for our country and a lot of people feel the same way.”

He also said, “I have so many Muslim friends. And they’re great people.”

Trump also sized up his Democratic rivals. Hillary Clinton was "having a tough time," against Bernie Sanders, Trump said.

"He should be easy to beat," Trump added.

Fallon took the opportunity to hold a mock job interview for the position of president of the United States.

Asked to tell Fallon about himself, Trump joked, "I'm an extraordinary handsome person. I have a beautiful head of hair." He added that he was also a good student who worked hard.

“Believe it or not, bringing people together,” Trump said in response to Fallon’s question on his strengths. “I always get along with people. That’s what we need in this country.”

And asked about weaknesses, Trump said he has a tendency to hold grudges.

"I never forget," he said, adding that he is "too nice too long."

When "somebody takes advantage of a situation," Trump said, “I become too bad for too long.”

He concluded that having "a little bit of a shorter memory -- it wouldn't be so bad."
