Nickolay Lamm designed a new version of the iconic doll based off of the actual measurements of the average 19-year-old girl. Barbie has often come under scrutiny for giving young women a skewed perception of thinness due to her unrealistic body proportions. While the curvier Barbie won’t be hitting store shelves, Lamm hopes his creation will make a lasting impression.

J. Lo Performs For Human-Rights-Violating Leader

Grammy-winner Jennifer Lopez sang “Happy Birthday” to the leader of Turkmenistan, a country dubbed by Human Rights Watch as “among the most repressive in the world.” Lopez would not have attended the event if she had been aware of the current human rights issues, according to her publicist. But “Jenny From The Block” isn’t the first celeb to get herself into global hot water...

Paula Deen Cuts Ties With Agent

The embattled celebrity cook was on the other side of the equation this week. After being dumped by many of her business asscociates over her current racial-slur controversy, Deen was the one serving notice when she ended her business relationship with long-time agent Barry Weiner on Thursday. In a prepared statement, the former Food Network star gave no reason for the split and wished Weiner well.

50 Cent Charged with Battery

Rapper 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) was charged with kicking his ex-girlfriend and doing over $7,000 worth of damage to her L.A. condo in June. If convicted he could see up to five years in prison and $46,000 in fines.
