Amanda Bynes Makes Brief Bong-Toss Court Appearance

The troubled actress is charged with reckless endangerment and attempted tampering with physical evidence

Actress Amanda Bynes made a brief court appearance Tuesday stemming from her arrest for allegedly tossing a bong from the window of her 36th floor Midtown apartment.

Bynes is charged with reckless endangerment and attempted tampering with physical evidence. She showed up to court Tuesday wearing a blonde wig with blue streaks, sunglasses, a black tank top, black sweatpants and sneakers.

In the appearance, which lasted about a minute, the judge set a new court date for Sept. 26.

She was arrested in May after building officials called police to complain she was rolling a joint and smoking pot in the lobby. Officers went to her apartment where they saw heavy smoke and a bong sitting on the kitchen counter. Prosecutors say she tossed the bong out the window in front of them.

Bynes rose to fame starring in Nickelodeon's "All That." She's also starred in 2010's "Easy A." But she has been in the news more recently because of several scrapes with the law and bizarre public behavior.
