Patti Blagojevich says her 23-day stint on a reality TV series in Costa Rica was an opportunity to "step away from the problems" back in Illinois.
The former Illinois first lady Tuesday was voted off NBC's "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!"
During her time on the show, Blagojevich ate a tarantula, was washed down rivers and suspended from wires.
She said the experience made her hopeful about the future. Blagojevich replaced her husband, ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich, on the show.
The former governor faces federal corruption charges. A judge barred him from leaving the United States.
Patti Blagojevich said her time on the show helped her find more strength. She said she felt welcomed, accepted, and encouraged by the other celebrities.
Her publicist told NBC that Blagojevich will stay in the jungle for "a few more days."
