Simon Cowell: Mariah Carey to Have “X Factor” Role

“American Idol” has J.Lo. “The Voice” has Xtina. “The X Factor” may land Mimi.

Simon Cowell said Friday he “adores” Mariah Carey and the pregnant pop star will likely “have a role on the live shows” for his new American talent competition “The X Factor,” E! News reported.

"I met her recently and she was on great form," Cowell told a DJ on Spokane, Washington’s 92.9 FM. "Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which of course only Mariah could come up with."

Cowell pledged Carey would “be involved in some form” on his upcoming Fox show. The former “American Idol” judge even joked about holding auditions in a maternity ward.

Carey and hubby Nick Cannon are reportedly expecting their twins' births within days.

“I literally adore her,” Cowell said of Carey. “I love her to bits."

But he stopped short of saying he'd hired the “Honey” singer to be on “The X-Factor’s” four-person judge’s panel, E! reported.

Cowell has so far only revealed himself and producer L.A. Reid have made the cut.
