Had it not been for his current gig at "Saturday Night Live," Jason Sudeikis might have pursued a different career path (and a different look).

The comedian, who recently starred in the films "The Bounty Hunter" and "Going the Distance," told Vanity Fair that he wasn’t just toying with the idea of being part of the Blue Man Group almost ten years ago, but was obsessed with it.

“It was an absolute reaction to wanting to be anonymous and silent. And yet at the same time, I guess powerful and funny. It was probably the closest I ever imagined I’d get to playing an instrument in front of people on stage. I auditioned once in Las Vegas and I wasn’t good enough at the drumming part. You have to know the single stroke rudiments, and I just wasn’t fast enough.”

Sudeikis revealed that he practiced incessantly in front of the mirror with drum pads and Blue Man sticks. Asked whether he shaved his head, Sudeikis said: “I came close. I had a haircut that was basically a two-guard on clippers.

“I was eventually flown out to New York to audition and got to see myself in the blue makeup. That was a hard lesson. I’m nowhere near as handsome as the guys who normally do that show. I don’t have the right bone structure. My face looked like a peanut M&M.”

Next up for Sudeikis is a role in the upcoming movie “Horrible Bosses,” which has drawn speculation on whether co-star Jennifer Aniston will appear nude. When asked by Vanity Fair to confirm or deny this, the comedian responded: “I can’t. All I can tell you is that I won’t be naked. It’s in my nudity riders.”
