Prince William and Kate Middleton Make First Public Visit as Engaged Couple

Prince William and his lady love Kate Middleton were together in public for the first time since they announced their engagement.

The couple attended a charity event for cancer in Norfolk, England last night, The Associated Press reported. They were greeted by people as they walked into the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. William and Middleton also met with several young cancer patients in the intermission.

Middleton was described as wearing a black and white dress and a dark jacket as well as high heels. "She looked absolutely beautiful," eyewitness Sophie Pinsent told the AP. "She was really lovely and they looked so happy together, so it was really nice. I thought it was so exciting."

The bride-to-be had previously lunched with Queen Elizabeth II and her party last week at Buckingham Palace.

"Between now and the wedding there will be occasions when Catherine does shadow Prince William, to learn the ropes and see how things go," a palace source told People magazine.

The money generated from last night’s charity event will go fund a Cambridge hospital’s cancer unit.
