Police Investigating Ellen Page Death Threats

An anonymous person called the organizers of the L.A. Film Festival and left a message threatening to kill Page

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a series of death threats made against the 25-year-old actress Ellen Page.

“I’m going to murder Ellen Page. She’s dead,” an unnamed suspect wrote on Twitter, according an affidavit obtained by The Los Angeles Times.

An anonymous person called the organizers of the L.A. Film Festival and left a message threatening to kill Page in June. The actress’s latest film, "To Rome With Love," directed by Woody Allen, screened at the festival during that month, causing Page to not attend the film premier.

Page’s management team alerted Twitter and the LAPD as soon as they became aware of the threats, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Police detectives then sought out a search warrant in order to trace the sender’s Twitter accounts.

A spokeswoman for the LAPD would not disclose any additional details of the investigation.

Page had her breakout role with the 2007 film “Juno.”
