”Glee” Singer Charice Demands Justice in Dad's Murder

"I loved him and I will still love him," the international star said of her estranged father.

Talented "Glee" star Charice Pempengco demanded that man who stabbed her estranged father to death in her Philippines hometown must face the law.

Police say Ricky Pemengco, 40, was killed by an angry drunk man with an ice pick in a seemingly chance encounter when he accidentally brushed up against him late Monday night. Police were preparing murder charges and will hand out photographs of the suspect, The Associated Press reports.

"Whoever did this must be brought to justice," the international singing sensation said in a radio interview. "Justice must be served, not just for my father but for everyone concerned."

Her father's death forced Charice to cancel a concert in Singapore on Tuesday. "I am very sorry to all my fans from Singapore," she wrote on Twitter. "I have to go back to the Philippines as soon as possible to be with my family."

According to Police Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz, the talented singer's father died instantly when the suspect stabbed him in the chest and back in a town south of Manila. There is a P50,000 ($100,000) reward for information on the killer.

Charice, 19, is a rising superstar in Asia and blew "Glee" audiences away with her booming voice in a reoccurring role on the Fox hit show. She was introduced to American audiences on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2007, after the quirky talk show host spotted her on YouTube and flew her into the States.

Local media reports that Charice's parents split up when she was three. Despite family troubles, the young international sensation said she once had "really great relationship" with her dad.

"I loved him and I will still love him," she wrote on Twitter. "He's still my Dad after all."
