Taylor Swift, Bieber, Rihanna Are Best-Paid Young Stars

Women dominated Forbes' list for May 2011 to May 2012

It pays to be a pop star — especially if you're a young woman, Forbes' new list of the best-paid celebrities under 30 found.

Country-pop darling Taylor Swift, 22, topped that list, earning $57 million between May 2011 and May 2012 on the strength of her tireless touring, robust record sales and CoverGirl endorsements.

Close on her heels is Justin Bieber — the boyfriend of Swift's close friend Selena Gomez — who made $55 million last year.

But the top five spots of Forbes' list were rounded out by women.

Rihanna got a huge earnings boost last year, thanks to an 85-date tour and hits like "We Found Love" from her 2011 album, which helped net her $53 million.

Lady Gaga came in fourth with $52 million — a big drop from her $90 million last year, because her massively successive Born This Way Ball world tour began after the cut-off for last year's list. Gaga could top the list next year, once her sold-out shows are factored in, according to Forbes.

New divorcee and pop-turned-movie star Katy Perry finished at number five with $45 million, thanks to her many hits and California Dreams tour.

Newly pregnant British belter (and professional album-seller, and Grammy collector) Adele came in sixth, followed by the list's sole actress, "Twilight" and "Snow White and the Huntsman" star Kristen Stewart.

Stewart's "Twilight" cohorts Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson also made the list, as did Lil Wayne, the list's only hip-hop star.
