Former actress Tawny Kitaen was nabbed by cops Saturday afternoon for driving under the influence in Newport Beach, Calif., authorities said Saturday evening.

Kitaen, who starred alongside Tom Hanks in the 1984 flick "Bachelor Party," was cuffed at 3 p.m. by officers in Newport Beach when cops suspected she'd been driving her Range Rover under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Sgt. Shontel Sherwood told the Associated Press Saturday.

Kitaen's long history with substances came to a head last year, when the 48-year-old appeared on VH1 reality series "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."

The star also gained fame for appearing in 1980s music videos for hair bands like Whitesnake. Kitaen later married Whitesnake singer David Coverdale.

Kitaen remained in custody in Newport Beach Saturday evening.
