Ryan Seacrest Gets Restraining Order

"American Idol" host followed by knife-wielding man

"American Idol" frontman Ryan Seacrest was granted a temporary restraining order by a California judge Friday evening after a knife-wielding man waited for the star emcee outside of his workplace, the E! Entertainment headquarters in Los Angeles.

Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr. was detained outside the building by police, who said in their official report Uzomah brandished a knife and said he was trying to catch a glimpse of the clean-cut "Idol" host Seacrest, the Associated Press reported.

This isn't Uzomah's first attempt to see Seacrest -- he was charged last month with carrying a switchblade knife, assault and battery after he attacked one of the star's bodyguards outside a Seacrest event.

Seacrest said in his filing for the restraining order that Uzomah was terrifying and that he feared for his safety.

"His aggressive and violent efforts to come into physical contact with me are extremely frightening to me," Seacrest wrote. "They have jeopardized not only my personal safety and the well-being of those around me."

Uzomah was still being held by police Friday evening on $150,000 bail.
