Lindsay to Drop “Lohan” Surname: Mom

Soon there will be only one Lohan: Michael.

Famous mom Dina told PopEater's Rob Schuter that she and her two daughters, including papparazzi gem Lindsay, are abandoning their surname.

"Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay," Dina told Schuter exclusively. "Plus, me and [little sister] Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan."

PopEater reports that Lindsay has been thinking of a singular moniker for a while but thought no one would recognize it. But after she sued E-trade over a commercial that mentioned "that milkaholic Lindsay," she realized no "Lohan" was needed to get the reference.

A family friend reportedly said: "It's a way for them all to start over. No one in the family wants anything to do with Lindsay's father [Michael Lohan] anymore and that includes sharing a last name."

Beyonce, Oprah, and Madonna have all pulled it off, but those names are slightly more rare than "Lindsay." According to HowManyofMe.com, around 99,754 Americans have the first name. There is only one "Lindsay Lohan," the site's statistics show.
