LiLo's Father Arrested in Long Island

Papa Lohan arrested for violating order of protection, cops confirm

Michael Lohan has been arrested for violating a restraining order in New York, allegedly for trying to phone his ex.

Suffolk police arrested Lohan Monday and charged the 49-year-old estranged father of actress Lindsay Lohan with second-degree contempt of court, a misdemeanor, Newsday confirmed.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ.com and RadarOnline.com that Lohan was arrested after trying to call his ex-girlfriend, Erin Muller, a big no-no.

Last June, a Long Island judge set aside a misdemeanor charge of aggravated harassment charge against Lohan for allegedly threatening to kill Muller and himself, but ordered Lohan to be on his best behavior for a year.

"If he does do something, our office has the option of petitioning the court to place the case back on the calendar," a spokeswoman for the Suffolk County District Attorney told E! News at the time.

Lohan has denied the latest reports about his arrest.

"I was not arrested," he told RadarOnline. "Erin and I had an argument. She has an ongoing order of protection against me. She called and said I violated it by making a phone call to her. I went down there today and saw the judge and I handled it and that was it."
