Man Arrested Near Paris Hilton's Home

A man arrested early Tuesday near the home of Paris Hilton was booked on suspicion of attempted residential burglary. The suspect, 31-year-old Nathan Lee Parada, was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Van Nuys Superior Court.

Hilton posted a photo of the arrest Tuesday and this message on Twitter, "So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting (him)"

TMZ.com reported that Hilton saw the man on security cameras and called police. Authorities said the arrest was made near Hilton's home in the hills above Sherman Oaks.

The man was arrested about 6:30 a.m. PT, said Richard French  of the Los Angeles Police Department. No injuries were reported.

Authorities did not confirm whether the man was carrying knives or other weapons at the time of the arrest.

Hilton's representative released a statement to "People" magazine:

In the early hours of this morning an armed man with two kitchen knives attempted to break in to Paris Hilton's home when she was sleeping. The security cameras and alarm system were alerted and the police immediately came to the house and arrested the intruder who was attempting to break a window when they arrived. Paris is naturally shaken by the events but is unharmed and well.

Hilton's home also was targeted in the Bling Ring case. Prosecutors alleged that from October 2008 through August of 2009, a gang of young men and women broke into the homes of young celebrities around Hollywood, stealing jewelry and luxury items.

Hilton and actress Lindsay Lohan provided testimony before a grand jury in that case.

In December 2007, an estimated $2 million worth of jewelry and other items were taken from the home. She was not home at the time of that break-in.

In 2004, a Hollywood Hills home of Hilton's was burglarized.
